Add an audible opening alert at four doors or windows with this four-pack of magnetic contact alarms. Each unit has a main alarm body and a smaller magnetic piece. When the two parts move apart as the door or window opens, the alarm sounds; bringing them back together stops the sound. It is a simple way to draw attention to an opening at the point where it happens.
The pack is useful for covering several entry points in an apartment, dorm room, home office or garage. You could place one at an entrance and use the others on suitable opening windows, or distribute them across rooms where you want to hear when a door is opened. Each compact pair fits at the join between the moving panel and its frame.
Installation uses adhesive mounting. Position the alarm and magnet alongside one another with the door or window closed, placing one part on the moving section and the other on the fixed frame so opening separates them. The specified activation separation is over 0.39 inches, approximately one centimetre. Alignment matters because the alarm responds to the distance between these two pieces.
A side on/off switch lets you enable the alert when needed and turn it off for ordinary access. The alarm has a rated sound output of 120dB, providing a prominent local alert. How far the sound carries depends on walls, closed doors and surrounding noise.
Each main alarm uses two AAA batteries, which are not included. The lower cover slides off to expose the battery compartment, allowing replacement without opening the sounder section. Battery power keeps the installation free of a cable running to a wall outlet.
The main body measures approximately 3.6 inches high, 1.2 inches wide and 0.7 inches deep. Its matching magnet is approximately 1.9 inches high, 0.5 inches wide and 0.5 inches deep. These measurements help you plan placement on a suitable frame while leaving the door or window free to open normally.
