Description
Bring compatible appliance remotes into the Smart Life app with this Tuya WiFi IR/RF controller. The compact hub sends infrared commands and supports fixed-encoding RF signals at 315MHz and 433MHz. It is useful when you want app control for existing remote-operated equipment, such as a compatible television, air conditioner or RF-controlled light, without replacing each appliance.
The two remote-control formats serve different equipment. IR support provides a route for compatible infrared appliance remotes, while the supported RF frequencies cover suitable fixed-encoding radio remotes. Frequency and encoding are part of compatibility; Somfy remotes are not supported. The hub’s purpose is to reproduce supported remote commands rather than make every remote-operated product compatible automatically.
Setup connects the controller to a 2.4GHz WiFi network and pairs it with Smart Life. Appliance controls can then be organised within the app, keeping supported functions together on your phone or tablet. Available remote profiles include common appliance categories, and DIY learning provides a way to copy supported commands from an existing remote when an appropriate built-in control profile is unavailable.
App access gives you another way to send commands when the hub is connected at home, including remote access through the connected service. For example, you can use supported television controls from the phone or send a command to a compatible air conditioner through its app remote. The available actions depend on the appliance and commands configured for it.
Schedules and scenes add choices for repeated routines. A schedule can send a supported action at a selected time, while a scene can bring configured actions together for a routine. Alexa and Google Home support also provides voice control for supported functions through the linked smart-home system.
The black hub has a small indicator on its face and a simple, unobtrusive body. Its main advantage is the combination of IR and supported RF control in one app-connected device, with learning, schedules and voice integration extending how you use compatible existing equipment.
