Keep compatible infrared controls together on your phone with this WiFi smart IR remote. The small round controller sends infrared commands to supported appliances, allowing you to operate equipment such as a TV, air conditioner, fan or DVD player through Tuya Smart or Smart Life. It is useful for a room with several separate remotes, or for adding connected control to an appliance that already uses an infrared handset.
The app's infrared code library provides profiles for supported equipment. A learning function can also capture supported signals from an original remote and store those commands for phone operation. This gives you a way to build controls around the appliance you use, while keeping the original equipment in place. Available functions depend on its infrared codes and the commands supported by the controller.
Android and iOS support make the app accessible from compatible phones and tablets. Once the controller is powered, connected and configured, app remote access lets you send supported commands through your connected setup. Alexa Echo and Google Home integration offer voice control as well. You could use a supported voice command to operate a television or adjust compatible climate equipment without finding its physical remote.
The infrared transmitter offers 360-degree coverage with a rated range of up to 7 m. This is the appliance-control range: the controller needs a placement from which its infrared signals can reach the equipment. A position on a shelf or side table in the same room can provide access to several compatible appliances, with clear signal paths helping commands reach their receivers.
The controller connects directly to 2.4 GHz WiFi using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and does not require a separate home gateway. USB power is specified at 5 V/1 A, with the cable connection tucked underneath the housing. Its maximum specified power consumption is 0.55 W. The low-profile white body and black infrared band give it a discreet tabletop appearance, while the code library, learning feature and voice integration provide flexible ways to use supported infrared equipment.
