Product Description
Monitor the opening and closing of a door or window with this two-piece eWeLink-compatible contact sensor. One part sits on the frame and the smaller magnetic part sits on the moving door or window. When the two parts separate, the sensor reports an opening event to your connected smart-home system. It is a practical way to add awareness of an entry point without running a sensor cable across the doorway.
App notifications bring opening events to your phone, so you can receive an alert when a monitored entrance is used. The app also provides open/closed status and an event history, helping you see the current state and review recorded activity. Besides a main entrance or window, the same contact-sensing arrangement can be used on a drawer or cabinet where you want to know when it has been opened.
This sensor uses Zigbee and requires a compatible Zigbee gateway, which is sold separately. Through a compatible eWeLink setup, it can participate in connected scenes rather than only send alerts. For example, an opening event can trigger a compatible smart light, creating an illuminated entrance when the door opens. Alexa and Google Home integration provide access to supported functions through the connected system.
The battery-powered design allows the sensor to sit neatly beside the opening being monitored. It uses a 3 V CR2032 battery, with battery power included, and has a rated battery life of up to one year; actual replacement intervals depend on activity and use. A low-battery setting in the app helps you keep track of maintenance.
The main sensor measures 50 × 25 × 11 mm, and the magnetic part measures 30 × 15 × 10 mm. The specified contact gap is no more than 5 mm, so the two pieces need close alignment when the door or window is shut. These small housings make the sensor suitable for focused monitoring of a single opening as part of a compatible smart-home setup.
